precious帶有感情色彩，是真心喜歡的
如：precious photo 珍貴的照片
如果不談感情，valuable和precious是一樣的。
sth is valuable/precious
price:價格->priceless adj.
-less表示否定：沒有價格的，無價的
valueless adj.沒有價值，不足道的
worth 值：worthless adj.無價值的

☆steal(stole,stolen) v.偷
在中國，認為在不知道的情況下是“偷”，明目張膽的就是“搶”。
而英語不區(qū)分。
我們說“我的錢包被偷了”和“我被偷了”是一個字，而在英語里是兩個詞。
My wallet was stolen.
I was robbed.
steal sth 偷（某物）；rob sb 搶（某人）
跟地點相連也用rob：rob the bank

main永遠不修飾人，我們可以說main
building/street/sentence/idea,但不能說main person

The plane was late and detectives were waiting at the airport all
morning.They were expecting a valuable parcel of diamonds from South
Africa.A few hours earlier,someone had told the police that thieves
would try to steal the diamonds.When the plane arrived,some of the
detectives were waiting on the airfield.Two men took the parcel off
the plane and caried it into the Custom House.While two detectives
were keeping guard at the door,two others opened the parcel.To their
surprise,the precious parcel was full of stones and sand!

過去完成式，過去以前發(fā)生的事情
...that thieves would try to...
would+do:過去將來式，間接方式，轉(zhuǎn)述，站在過去看未來
☆when和while都表示當……的時候，考試時一定選when
while能用when代替，但是when卻不一定能用while代替
while+從句，動作一定會延續(xù)
when+延續(xù)性動作/瞬間動詞
when he arrived/died
用過去進行時：
在過去的某一點時間，或者是過去某一動作同時發(fā)生的另外一個動作。瞬間動詞（如arrive）無進行時態(tài)。
同時發(fā)生的兩個動作
1.一個用一般過去時，另一個用過去進行時。
2.分工的情況，均用過去進行時
When I was doing my homework,my mother was cooking.
表面上是分工：兩個動作同時開始，表示同時開始同時結(jié)束，延續(xù)時間不一致，長一點時間的動作用進行時態(tài)，短時間的動作用過去時。
When someone knocked at the door,I was having dinner.

☆to one's surprise, 讓某人驚訝的是
跟人的情緒有關(guān)的名詞都可以替換
to one's joy/excitement
☆be full of...裝滿

vt+adv+賓語(n)
vt+賓語(n/pron)+adv
vi+prep+賓語(n)
賓語的位置和詞性取決于施加動作的動詞
介詞出現(xiàn)，一定要有賓語，所以v+prep+賓語(n)
副詞可以省略，v+賓語(n/pron)+adv或v+adv+賓語(n)
是副詞還是介詞要看動詞是及物動詞還是不及物動詞
vt-adv vi-prep
而判斷是不是及物動詞就要看平時的積累了
特殊：1.make up...->make(vt)up one's mind
語法上可以改為make one's mind up,但習慣上不改
2.ask for...
表面上ask（vt），可改。但要注意是ask (sb) for sth
的省略，所以不能改
