★New words and expressions
☆competition n.比賽，競(jìng)賽
所有的比賽都可以通稱為competition
速度比賽：race eg.car race
球賽：match eg.football match
contest用的更多，除了以上的比賽，都可以說contest
選美比賽就是beauty contest
還有g(shù)ame，如果把上面的都忘了，就用這個(gè)
☆neat adj.整齊的，整潔的
不等于clean，等于tidy
☆pool n.水池
pool是人工的，游泳池：swimming pool
天然的叫池塘：pond
★本課重點(diǎn)是比較級(jí)和最高級(jí)
※三個(gè)或者三個(gè)音節(jié)（元音音標(biāo)）以上的詞：多音節(jié)詞：
比較級(jí)的構(gòu)成：more+原級(jí)，最高級(jí)的構(gòu)成：the most+原級(jí)
※單音節(jié)的詞用er，est
※雙音節(jié)：不一定
一般情況，同單音節(jié)
以y結(jié)尾的+er，例外：slowly-more slowly-the most slowly
often-more often-the most often
clever-cleverer-cleverest和clever-more clever-the most clever都對(duì)
技巧：長(zhǎng)的當(dāng)多音節(jié)，短的當(dāng)單音節(jié)，但僅僅是技巧哦
fun按照語法應(yīng)該是funner,funnest,可老美偏偏說more
fun,the most fun。
如果考語法，中國(guó)人全對(duì)，美國(guó)人錯(cuò)的一塌糊涂，英國(guó)人對(duì)一半。所以老美是不會(huì)拿自己的弱點(diǎn)來考我們的。
無規(guī)律：
good-better-best;bad-worse-worst;many/much-more-most;little-less-least
far-farther-farthest;far-further-furthest
farther：距離上的更遠(yuǎn)；further：程度上的
old-older-oldest;old-elder-eldest
older是比……大；elder做定語修飾其它名詞：elder

Joe Sanders has the most beautiful garden in our town.Nearly
everybody enters for 'The Nicest Garden Competition' each year,but
Joe wins every time.Bill Frith's garden is larger than Joe's.Bill
works harder than Joe and grows more flowers and vegetables,but
Joe's garden is more interesting.He has made neat paths and has
built a wooden bridge over a pool.I like gardens too,but I do not
like hard work.Every year I enter for the garden competition too,and
I always win a little prize for the worst garden in the town!
☆enter for:報(bào)名參加，只強(qiáng)調(diào)報(bào)名
eg.enter for the exam
參加：take part in

vi.I win.我贏了。 I lose.我輸了。
vt. 1.win sth win后面往往是獎(jiǎng)品
eg.I win the book.
2.win a prize:贏了一個(gè)獎(jiǎng)
win a prize for:因?yàn)椤@獎(jiǎng)
[注]win后面不能接對(duì)手，不能說I win you.
要用defeat或beat，但defeat用得多，因?yàn)閎eat還有打的意思。
I defeat you.
